readingSound teaching begins and ends with learning.
Like most academicians, I thrive on learning new things myself, but I am even more thrilled about helping students learn and make that connection between reading and understanding, hearing and applying.
Along those lines, I have been teaching and tutoring students since 1999 when I began voluntarily helping Asian families learn basic literacy skills at a community resource center in St. Petersburg, FL.  Since then, I have provided individual and group instruction in areas pertaining to research, writing, and technology to students (mostly undergraduates) at varying academic levels.
